Rubber Commune
Rubber Commune is an independent record label for creative music. Founded in December 2024, Rubber Commune is preparing to launch in February 2025 with eight upcoming releases of contemporary improvised and written music. The label was founded by Mehmet Ali Simayli in Basel, CH, and has multiple bases such as Istanbul, Basel, Den Haag, and Berlin. Upcoming releases are planned for a broad variety of music including albums such as Dog Days, Miniatures for Floor Tom and Electric Guitar, I'll Hold The Flowers, and Blazed Runner.
blank.midi (2024)
blank.midi is a seven-minute and fifteen seconds piece for a grand piano, two performers, and fixed media placed inside the piano. The piece explores the potential of objectification of the musical instrument piano and its relationship with the user and the audience. Post-disklavier approach to the automation of the grand piano, finds its base in piano learning applications, piano roll composing and black midi style aesthetics with a twist of complexity and intensity.
UX Flesh (in progress)
UX Flesh is a piece for ensemble and electronics, designed spatially for 5.1 audio where the audience places in between the ensemble and the speakers. The piece puts the sawtooth wave type and the circular saw machine as horrific imagery in the tension of a complex drone which bodily affects the audience in an intense sonic environment.It all begins with an idea.
