Gathered together for sharing the unease and making up proverbs which would go well together in the summer of twenty-twenty-three Istanbul. Aiming to spread it in the spectrum of flammable entertai*ment by making sounds and faces that make us feel like functioning human beings for a second. These textures that can philosophically contradict any kind of musical ideology or trigger some kind of tension in the body can also please some ordinary people such as Ali Onur Olgun on reeds, Kerem Can Dündar on electric guitar and pedals, and Mehmet Ali Şimayli on drums and objects; who takes chances on thinking out loud which makes what they say riskier in terms of the old preachers.
The free improvisation group ‘Nobody Presents’ which we established in the summer of 2023, elaborated the material of our recent interests and stylistic tendencies in our instruments, in a trio format with the instrumentation of saxophone, electric guitar and drums.
The sonic palette of the extended usage of the instruments, using the elements of extended techniques, additional objects, and experimentations in the set-ups such as the uncommon alignment of drums and microphone placements, allows the trio to express deeply the common intuitions of the musicians.
With the influences of noise, micro-sound, no-wave, the lifestyle of the metropolitan, and a musical insurrection towards the authorities and music industry; the trio aims to go further in terms of the sonic expression, sometimes with a funny, sometimes with less funny manner.
Discovering the space, honesty and trust, and all the opposites of these concepts in improvisation, Nobody Presents grooves in the pulses of broken loops, non-repetitions, and drones made of different spectrums of noise.
