Baksı Foundation for Arts and Culture has nominated a variety of artists who work in different disciplines such as literature, sculpture, photography, and music, for the first time in the year of 2022. I had been awarded in the field of music and got commissioned to do musicology research linked with the works of Muzaffer Sarısözen, who was a musicologist and arranger who collected thousands of folk songs travel all around Anatolia.
In Bayraktar Village (‘Baksı’ with its old name which means poet in Shamans) where I have stayed during this research, I focused on topics such as cultural transformation and disinformation in micro-cultures, political and religious effects in folk music and the history of musicology works in Asia Minor
I have worked in the fields of video documentation, photography, sound recording, and installation art (which is going to be installed in the museum in the summer of 2025) during my residency in Bayburt, Baksı Museum.
